I’m Rosie Sayers, an independent celebrant based near Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. I write and lead weddings, funerals, celebrations of life, naming ceremonies and vow renewals across Warwickshire and the Midlands.
How I came to celebrancy
The story behind the ceremonies
I didn’t arrive at celebrancy in a straight line. What I’ve always done, in one way or another, is sit with people and listen properly to what matters to them. That is still the part of this work I love most.
Alongside my celebrant work I lead a community choir here in Warwickshire. Week after week it reminds me how much good comes from people gathering in one place for something shared, and how much a calm, friendly voice at the front helps everyone relax into it.
What drew me to celebrancy was noticing that the ceremonies I remembered most - weddings, funerals, namings - were the ones where someone had taken the time to understand the people involved. The ones that sounded like a life, not a template. I wanted to be the person who does that.
So I trained as a celebrant, and now I do it properly: I listen, I write something true, and I lead the day gently so the people it belongs to can simply be in it. Nobody has to worry about what happens next - that’s my job.

I ask more questions than most
I want to understand the people, not just the facts. That's usually where the things worth saying are hiding.
I take funerals as seriously as weddings
Both are a privilege. Both deserve care, attention and a voice that fits the moment.
I'm comfortable with emotion
Ceremonies are emotional by their nature. I stay steady through it, so you don't have to manage anything.
I like bringing people together
I lead a community choir near home, and the pleasure is the same: a group of people sharing something that matters.
I live in Royal Leamington Spa
And I work across Leamington Spa, Warwick, Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry, wider Warwickshire, the Midlands and the North Cotswolds - with other areas possible by arrangement.
